Have you ever read a particular line of text, or heard a good sentence that resonates with you for a long time, leaving you motivated and keen to do good work? I’m sure you have, but probably don’t remember all too much of it. Here are some very good examples that you should listen to, because hopefully it will knock some sense into you and stop procrastinating.
“The more you lose yourself in something bigger than yourself, the more energy you will have” Norman Vincent Peale
This goes back to our first post on purpose. What exactly are you working your butt off for?
“What lies behind us, and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
This quote talks about what is important to you. What values you have, what kind of behaviours you project.
“To be awake is to be alive.” – Henry David Thoreau
More of a ‘I’m so lucky to be alive’ type quote, this is an important one because it highlights the very importance of getting people to do certain things.
Why I Procrastinate
Well, this is absolutely normal behaviour – however I truly believe telling someone to ‘just stop procrastinating and you’ll be fine’ is very ineffective.
The procrastinator is in the bad habit of pushing things off till later, addicted to not doing any work. But when he does go out of his way to get things to happen, he still puts in a half arsed effort, using lousy methods that don’t work to get his abilities done. Deep down he knows that things have to change, but for the life of him he can’t muster up the necessary courage to do the right thing and fix his life. Don’t be this person.
